Information we collect

There are 3 basic categories of information we collect:

  • Information you provide.

  • Information we get when you use our services.

Here’s a little more detail on each of these categories.

Information you provide

When you create an account, you provide us with at least your phone number and email address, profile picture  as well as some basic details necessary for the service to work, such as your gender and date of birth. When you complete your profile, you can share additional information with us, such as details on your bio, interests and other details about you, as well as content such as photos and videos. To add certain content, like pictures or videos, you may allow us to access your camera or photo album.Of course, we also process your chats with other members, as well as the content you publish or share with the location you have selected from your settings, as necessary for the operation of the services. Keep in mind that when you share a post or content in the location that you have selected from the app setting, the post or content may be visible to all the users that have selected that location.

When you contact customer support or communicate with us in any other way, we’ll collect whatever information you volunteer or that we need to resolve your question.

Information we get when you use our services

  • Usage Information.  We collect information about your activity through our services. For example, we may collect information about:

  • How you communicate with other users, such as their names, the time and date of your communications, the number of messages you exchange with others and your interactions with messages (such as when you open a message).

  • Location you have selected and  the content that you have created in that specific location.

  • Other information with your consent If you give us permission, we can collect your precise geolocation (latitude and longitude). The collection of your geolocation may occur in the background even when you aren’t using the services if the permission you gave us expressly permits such collection. If you decline permission for us to collect your precise geolocation, we will not collect it. Similarly, if you consent, we may collect photos and videos (for instance, if you want to publish a photo or video or participate in streaming features on our services).

  • Camera, photos and audio. Many of our services require us to collect images and other information from your device’s camera and photos. For example, you won’t be able to share content or upload photos from your camera roll unless we can access your camera or photos. Similarly, you won’t be able to interact with people in specific locations unless we can access your geolocation.

How long we keep your information

On our end, that means most messages — like  Chats — sent in Imagine  will be automatically deleted by default from our servers after we detect they've been opened by all recipients or have expired. Other content, like posts, are stored for longer.

We store other information for longer periods of time. For example:

  • We store your basic account information — like your name, phone number and email address — until you ask us to delete them.

  • We store posts that you have created with the details. For example, if you created a post in a specific location then the post and location details would be saved.

  • We store location information for different lengths of time based on how precise it is and which services you use.

If you ever decide to stop using Imagine, you can delete your account within the app setting. We’ll also delete most of the information we’ve collected about you after you’ve been inactive for a while!

Keep in mind that, while our systems are designed to carry out our deletion practices automatically, we cannot promise that deletion will occur within a specific time frame. There may be legal requirements to store your data, and we may need to suspend those deletion practices if we receive valid legal process asking us to preserve content, if we receive reports of abuse or other Terms of Service violations, or if your account, content created by you or content created with other users is flagged by others or our systems for abuse or other Terms of Service violations. Finally, we may also retain certain information in backup for a limited period of time or as required by law.

Control over your information

We want you to be in control of your information, so we provide you with the following tools.

Access/update tools in the service. Tools and account settings can help you access, rectify or remove information that you provided to us and that’s associated with your account directly within the service.

Device permissions. Mobile platforms can have permission systems for specific types of device data and notifications, such as pictures, location services, and push notifications. You can change your settings on your device to either consent or oppose the collection or processing of the corresponding information or the display of the corresponding notifications. Of course, if you do that, certain services may lose functionality.

Uninstall. You can stop all information collection by an app by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall process for your device. Remember that uninstalling an app does NOT close your account. To close your account, please use the corresponding functionality on the service.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are restricted to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not permit individuals under the age of 18 on our platform. If you suspect that a member is under the age of 18, please use the reporting mechanism available on the service.

Privacy Policy Changes

Because we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to help you build meaningful connections and strive to make sure explanations about our data practices remain up to date, this policy may change over time. We will notify you before any material changes take effect, so that you have time to review the changes.
